Kudaoya

Gammaduwa is easily accessed from Colombo via Kandy – Matale – Rattota. Spice gardens, Managed forestry and Natural forests interspaced with Tea plantations dominate the landscape with gushing rivers and streams on your drive to Kuda Oya. From Matale to Rattota is 9 Km and from Rattota to Gammaduwa is another 9 km. A right turn at the little church at Gammaduwa will get you to the villa with a further 5 minute drive.

A classy Villa in a stunning location with a sprawling verandah overlooking a mist filled valley in the early mornings and red sky’s with the setting sun in the evenings, Kuda Oya is a place like no other. Lush vegetation surrounds the Villa with towering pine forests in its back yard. A gushing river (oya) nearby, a turquoise blue swimming pool, sprawling undulating lawns and flower filled hedgerows makes this villa a little paradise in it’s self. Most of your time will be spent lounging on the 3,000 square foot verandah which is the highlight of the Villa. The luxurious bedrooms and bathrooms are five star quality and there is little reason to leave the villa.

The locality of Kuda Oya is quite remote and un-spoilt and therefore a wonderful location for biking and trekking. With a short drive you can access some of the best views and scenery in the country with no people around to disturb your tranquility, and no buildings as far as the eye can see, to mar the beauty of the vegetation.

It’s absolute comfort in the middle of the wilds since the plantation is also predominantly thick forest under which the aromatic Cardamoms are grown. Spice gardens abound in the region with Cinnamon, Cardamom, Nutmeg, Cloves and Pepper dominating the landscape interspaced with Tea and managed forestry such as Pine and Eucalyptus.
